It’s Summer Music Festival Time
There are Music Festivals happening all round the province this summer. They will attract people with a wide range of entertainment interest. And if you’re into road trips you might want to pack up your car and hit the road to take in a variety of these live music venues.
- Victoria Ska Festival July 7 – 10) at ten various venues in Victoria featuring topnotch reggae musicians like Fishbone and the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies. Tickets (map)
- Harrison Festival of the Arts (July 10 -18) Rockwell Drive, Harrison Hot Springs. This scenic area is famous for its hot springs and a lake so it makes a perfect place to spend a weekend. this year’s festival includes Delhi 2 Dublin, slide guitar guru David Lindly and Juno award winners Chic Gamine. Eight of the concerts take place on Harrison Lake’s beach. Harrison Spring Resort & Spa offers accommodation packages. Tickets (map)
- Nakusp Music Festival (July 16-18) This Kootenay festival headlines the Headpins, Bif Naked, Default, the Trews, 54.40 and features Eric Burdon & the Animals. Camping and a shuttle bus to the festival grounds. Tickets (map)
- Bass Coast Project (July 23-26) in Squamish presents live and electronic music featuring Montreal legend Megasoid, art, fashion shows and yoga. Tickets (map)
- Bonfire Music Festival (July 23-25)at Moon Farm on the Sunshine Coast: 9506 Pemberton Portage, Birken is a celebration of good times with acts like Headwater, Sixgun Buddha, Baked Potato and New Monsoon. Roots, Groove, Jazz, Funk & Folk . Tickets
- Mission Folk Music Festival (July 23-25) at Fraser River Heritage Park in MIssion has talent from around the world with Karolina Kanteliinen (Finland); Kinge Kinge (Kenya); Al Andalus (Morocco) and Renato Borghetti (Brazil) Camping on site. Tickets (map)
