Honolulu Zoo’s “Wildest Show in Town”
Summer is here — and that means $3 concerts at the Honolulu Zoo [map]! This is one of my favorite venues, as you can relax on the lawn and enjoy live music while having a picnic dinner.
For almost two decades, the Honolulu Zoo Society has sponsored Wednesday evening concerts from June to August on the zoo’s stage lawn. From dusk til dark, visitors can listen to some of Hawaii’s favorite local musicians do their thing. Admission is just $3, making it one of the best deals in town.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m., which will buy you one hour to take a brisk walk through the zoo exhibits before they close at 5:30 PM. You can bring your own picnic dinner or buy food from the few booths available on the lawn. The concert starts at 6 PM. It’s an alcohol-free event.
Here’s the line-up this summer:
- June 23: Ten Feet
- June 30: John Cruz
- July 7: Pali
- July 14: Ohta-San
- July 28: Holunape
- August 4: Frank Delima
- August 11: Jimmy Borges
