Bring It On: Virginia Beach Adventure Race

Think you and your family has what it takes to compete against others? Why not sneakersforsneaking find out by putting your family to the test with the Virginia Beach Adventure Race on September 18-19.

Described by Ron Kuhlman, vice president of tourism marketing & sales, Virginia Beach CVB, as “an unprecedented event that pits family versus family in a series of action-packed challenges and adventures throughout the city.” Not only is this  competition designed for active family fun, but also to “showcase the many activities and outdoor adventures that define Virginia Beach.” Some of the challenges include a beach & sea relay, scavenger hunt through the resort city, and much more.

Interested families can begin registering now through June 30. According to the rules (PDF file), each team must consist of two adults (ages 18 or older), and two children between ages seven through 17. In July, 10 families will be randomly selected to participate. The winning family will walk away with a $10,000 grand prize.

“First and foremost, Virginia Beach is a family-friendly vacation getaway, which is what we are trying to promote during the Virginia Beach Adventure Race,” says Kuhlman. “We want people to be able to experience all that this city has to offer.  Additionally, we are seeing that families want to create unique experiences together when they vacation.”
