World Of Color Debut at Disney’s California Adventure
June 11 will mark the debut of Disney’s California Adventure theme park’s newest attraction, World of Color. Choreographed with groundbreaking technology, the nighttime show is a creative, playful new way for guests to experience the Disney stories we all love. Featuring lights, water, music, fire and animation all coming together like never before, it is no wonder Disneyland Resort (map) guests are so excited.
The Disney Imagineers have worked overtime on World of Color which can be seen on Paradise Bay in the California Adventure park. Many travelers are familiar with water-infused entertainment, similar to the fountain show at the Bellagio Hotel (map) in Las Vegas. Disney’s production , however, will take the artistry to a new level.
The World of Color show features 1,200 powerful fountains that create massive screens of water used to project familiar animation. Scenes span such Disney classics as “The Lion King”, “The Little Mermaid” , “Toy Story”, “Finding Nemo” and even “WALL-E”.
With larger-than-life projections, lasers, fire, fog, surround sound of popular Disney music, moving fountains and water spouts that shoot 30 -200 feet in the air, it sounds like technical wizardry. What is even more amazing to me is that all of this technology is controlled by one main system.
The initial previews that I have seen are fabulous and I anticipate that as a whole and in person, World of Color will be spectacular. As part of the “Summer Nightastic!” promotion, World of Color will be seen nightly through August 29 and then on select nights throughout the remainder of the year.

This was an amazing show, we saw it on Saturday, June 12th. We sat in a section where we just got mist, but our older children sat in a closer zone and got soaked. But they said it was absolutely worth it. Spectacular choreography of the water with the lights and music and pictures from our favorite Disney and Pixar movies. Wish my five year old was taller to see it all in full view. Next time we’ll sit up front and bring our rain coats!
I am so glad you enjoyed it. I can’t wait to see it in person myself.
