Granbury Texas: Take a Walk on the Wine Side
The first-ever Granbury Wine Walk takes place June 4th and 5th, 2010. Don’t let the name fool you, however; there is a lot more going on during this two-day event than just wine tastings.
Upon purchasing your tickets, you will receive a commemorative wine glass, a wristband and a map of Granbury Wine Walk participants. You may then wander through Granbury’s historic town square, where you will hear musicians performing, see art exhibits, cooking demos, and sample a wide variety of what Texan wineries have to offer.
If a particular grape tickles your fancy, bottles will be for sale. Nibble on food from local restaurants, or take locally grown herbs and produce home with you. Many shops in the town square will be open during the event.
Granbury may be a historic little town, but it embraces modern technology, too. There’s a Facebook page dedicated to the Granbury Wine Walk , while the Twitter tag of: #GranburyWine, let’s you tweet your opinions through the blogosphere faster than you could hear it through the grapevine.
Besides being a whole lot of fun, the Granbury Wine Walk is for a good cause. All proceeds from this event go to Signature Kids, a local non-profit agency which offers medical assistance and scholarship to youth in the Granbury area.
