Tempting Summer Menus

Memorial Day marks the beginning of summer and local restaurants are jumping on board by offering some great dining deals. Most are for 3-course prix fixe menus. Be sure to check the individual deals for the exact days and times when the menus are available. Here are some of our favorites:

Palm Beach County –

Jimmy’s Bistro in Delray is kicking of a 3-course summer menu for $25. This offer is valid from Monday – Thursday, and the menu items will change frequently according to what is fresh. Wild Olives Cafe is offering a $21 3-course dinner menu all summer long. This is available from Sunday-Thursday. Enjoy either tomato bisque or a summer salad with blood orange vinaigrette, your choice of entree (seafood risotto, honey mustard glazed salmon, chicken penne or grilled hanger steak) and a dessert. Broward –

Bova Prime is offering a 3-course dinner special for $23.95, but I’m not sure if I’d qualify an espresso with biscotti as a course, but here goes: Select either a Caesar or Steak House Salad, your choice of entree (Filet Mignon, Veal Chop Milanese, Chilean Sea Bass or Lemon Chicken) and an espresso with biscotti for dessert. Cafe Maxx, one of my favorite Broward County restaurants, will once again offer their Neighborhood Nights promotion. This 3-course $30 menu is available from Sunday-Wednesday from now until September 30. While the menu will be updated monthly, here are some highlights being offered right now — Escargot crostini with Pernod garlic butter, mushrooms and arugula; Warm Szechuan beef “taco” with an Asian vegetable nest; Three pepper crusted petite filet with blue cheese au-gratin; a Banana Chip & nut crusted mahi-mahi with purple potatoes or Lobster enchilada. Miami-Dade –

Bourbon Steak has a Market Menu available from now until July 31. For $49, guests can enjoy a 3-course prix fixe with highlights being glazed beef short ribs, Spring Asparagus soup and Alaskan Halibut with fava bean puree, sauteed pea tendrils and sweet corn. Chef Allen’s started their “Taste of Summer” menu, available until the end of July from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on any night, but Tuesday. Enjoy your choice of a Blue Crab Cake or a Caesar Salad, a choice of entree (Vegetable Primavera pasta, Pistachio Crusted Mahi-Mahi or Black Angus NY Strip) and Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee. Sra. Martinez is kicking off a Spanish BBQ night on Tuesday evenings. For $35, guests can enjoy an all-you-can-eat dining extravaganza. The June 1 family style dining experience begins with a Cuban pig roast paired with an heirloom tomato salad with caper berries, Murcia al Vino, roasted fingerling potatoes and more. Wish Restaurant is offering a Mediterranean-inspired 3-course prix fixe menu through July. The tasting menu available during dinner will cost $45++ and an additional $15 if you’d like wine pairings. The dinner will change each month. During June, guests will enjoy Crispy Escarole Ravioli, Braised Pork Belly with udon noodles, charred bok choy and an aromatic bacon broth and Blood Orange Creme Brulee with Ginger Cookie.
