Riverdance’s Farewell Tour Stops at Wolf Trap

After 15 years of delighting audiences with its legendary high-stepping, fast-tapping Irish dancing troupe, Riverdance is making its final world tour and stopping at Wolf Trap for 7 shows before taking their final bow.

Riverdance

Initially made famous by Jean Butler and Michael Flatley, Riverdance will be visiting every venue in North America it visited during its 15-year run.  Over the past few years, the show has been performing to smaller audiences and smaller venues.

The show brings their usual intricate foot tapping, high-step dancing, Celtic music and dramatic storyline, with big, crowd-pleasing numbers, such as “Heartland,” “Riverdance” and “Thunder Storm” at the show along with other dances .

Not actually their final tour, as the troupe will be touring extensively in Asia, mostly in China for a reported 3+ year exclusive deal.  But it’s doubtful North America will see Riverdance for a long time, if ever again.

The final tour will conclude 15 years after the first show premiered in Dublin. Since then, 22 million people have experienced their power and grace. The final show will be at the same theater where it all started, The Point Theatre in Dublin.
