American Idol Winner Going to Disney World

What could be better than winning the hottest reality television program in America? Well, going to Walt Disney World Resort (map), of course!

After being crowned the newest “American Idol”,  reality t.v. star and singing champion, Lee DeWyze filmed the famous “I’m going to Disney World” commercial.   Film crews used the Nokia Theater (map) in Los Angeles as the backdrop for the celebratory advertisement, immediately following the star-studded season finale of the musical reality program.

The taped spots will air nationally to promote the Disney Parks and are often associated with the winning Super Bowl Champions.  The ads have, in fact, featured winners of sporting events, contests and notable accomplishments since 1987.

A slight change to this version is that DeWyze’s winning voice will appear in the background of the famous commercial as he sings the Disney Classic, “When You Wish Upon a Star”.

Can’t get enough Idol now that the season has ended? Visit the American Idol Experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.   Talented guests can run through the audition process, being selected to continue to the remaining “rounds” until they perform on stage in front of an audience of voting Disney World guests.

Winners of the Idol Dream Ticket, are granted an audition for the next season of American Idol.  One such Dream Ticket winner was Aaron Kelly.  The young singer remained as part of the final five contestants of the season’s Idol.

Warm up those vocal chords, you may be the next contestant and it could be you happily shouting, “I’m Going to Disney World”!
