Wings and Wheels: May 29-30
“Fly Me to the Moon” and “Drive Me Crazy” should be the theme songs of this weekend’s event – Wings and Wheels Heritage Festival- taking place at Downsview Park. The annual event, in its 5th year, acts as a fundraiser for the Canadian Air and Space Museum.
Aircraft, jets, airliners, helicopters, automobiles, motorcycles and miltary vehicles past and present will be on display. Gone are the days that one can get up and close to airplines so here’s your chance. Check out 100 years of Bombardier history, celebrate aviation milestones, chat with pilots, military personnel and automotive experts. Take a plane ride over Toronto ($40), a helicopter ride ($65) or ride in a Harvard trainer from World War II (approx $200).
There is fun for kids too in the Kids Zone: face painting, colouring, interactive workshops and free inflatables.
So “Get Your Motors Running” this weekend at Wings & Wheels!
