Free Summer Museum Admission for Military Families
The promises a red, white, and blue summer by offering free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families. Over will extend the complimentary admission between Memorial Day and Labor Day, as a way of say thanking our military and their families for their service and sacrifice to our country.
Museums participating in the program include 30 children’s museums, along with museums focusing on a broad range of art, history, science, and culture. In the greater Seattle area, museums participating include: , , , , and the .
The Seattle area has a strong military presence, with McChord Air Force Base and Fort Lewis in Tacoma, and Whidbey Island Naval Air Station to our north, there are military families scattered throughout the area. This is a great opportunity to visit a familiar museum, or try something new, for no charge.
Locations: Henry Art Gallery, 4100 15th Avenue NE, on the corner of 41st and 15th NE, University of Washington campus (); Kids Quest Children’s Museum, 4091 Factoria Mall SE, Bellevue (); Polson Museum, 1611 Riverside Avenue, Hoquiam (); Seattle Art Museum, 100 University Street, downtown (); Tacoma Art Museum, 1701 Pacific Avenue, Tacoma ().
Dates: Memorial Day (May 31st) through Labor Day (September 6th), 2010
Details: All active duty military members and their immediate family members are granted FREE admission, including active duty Reserves and National Guard. .
