Sex and the City 2

If you’re going to be in Houston when Sex and the City 2 premiers on May 27, you’re in luck.  You can “Carrie On” the love affair with New York City, and its four most famous characters, at several locations around this city.

SATC 2: Parties

If you want to get a jump on the celebration, try the Cocktail Couture party on Wednesday May 26 at The Melting Pot, 6100 Westheimer (map).  A $41 ticket (plus tax and gratuity) includes a 3-course meal and a ticket to see the movie.  The restaurant will also offer $6 drink specials on a variety of wine and cocktails.  You can find event information on The Melting Pot’s website or call 713.532.5011.

Where To See The Movie

Sex and the City 2 is a huge movie and will be released in every major theater in town, so it won’t be hard to find a screen to watch it on.  And while I know you don’t have to see SATC 2 with a drink in your hand - wouldn’t it just be nice?  Try the Angelika Film Center, 501 Texas St. (map) or the Alamo Drafthouse West Oak 1000 West Oak (map) if you are looking for theaters that serve adult beverages.  Note: the Angelika has a bar in the lobby, while the Alamo has table service.  You can call the Angelika at 713.225.1470; you can reach the Alamo Drafthouse at 281.920.9268.  The Studio Movie Grill is another great theater, with two locations to chose from at City Centre or Copperfield.  The City Centre location is at 805 Town and Country Lane (map) and Copperfield is at 8580 Highway 6 North in Cypress, just northwest of the city (map).  If you pre-order tickets online at SMG you can get a reserved seat at no extra charge.  All movie schedules at all theaters are subject to change, so I recommend calling the theater in addition to bookmarking their website.  As of the writing of this article movie times for the premier showings are:
