Photo Friday: Rainy Edinburgh
Happy Friday everyone!
I just loved this beautiful photo taken in the outskirts of Edinburgh; it’s a fresh reminder that despite the damp weather we often have, the city can still be beautiful.
Edinburgh often has a reputation for being a terribly rainy and wet place, but in fact the east coast of Scotland is drier than the west coast. Nonetheless, we average rainfall about 17 days a month, which may sound like a lot but it’s pretty consistent with many parts of northern Europe.
Part of the problem is a day with just a short rain squall is counted as a wet day; if you’ve been to Edinburgh, you’ll know pretty much anytime a storm can appear from seemingly nowhere.
However, if you wake up and find it to be wet and dreary out, don’t despair, as often you can get a very nice patch of sun in the afternoon.
Having said all of that – be sure to bring an umbrella and water-resistant shoes on your visit to Scotland’s capital.

You post this after the last few days of weather in Edinburgh? Can you not see the sun shining outside?
