Auckland International Film Festival

This annual event is a ‘must see/do’ for your diary this July in Auckland.  Running from 8th – 25th July 2010, this national event is being held in a number of locations across Auckland and offers 150-170 features in Auckland and Wellington alone.

Auckland is the original home of the film festival and was founded in 1969 – now the festival features in 15 cities and towns throughout the country giving people the chance to extend their cinematic options and for local filmmakers to put their work on show.

There is plenty on offer to cater to all tastes in each centre, please be aware that not every film is shown in every venue so make sure you checkout the festival’s website.  Here you will find screening schedules, film information, detail on special events (which include meeting some of the film makers) ticketing and venue information.

Ticket prices are $11.50 for sessions before 5pm and $15 for after 5pm – please note there are student and senior citizen discounts.  You can also purchase a ‘ten trip pass’ if you are a real film buff.

TIckets can be purchased from Ticketek or by mail, if you are attending a film at the Civic Theatre, SKYCity Theatre or Cinemas then you can purchase tickets up until the session commences – other venues will be selling tickets up until 5pm the day prior.
