6 Things to do in the Metro-Atlanta Area This Weekend
So the weekend is still days away (long days away), but that doesn’t mean you
can’t make plans now.
And honestly, it will give you something to look forward to when it feels like 2 p.m. on Wednesday will never end.
In Atlanta, you can always count on A LOT happening and it’s not a problem to find six, or 20 things to do in one weekend. However, if you need a start on your list or help narrowing it down, here are six events this weekend that shouldn’t be missed.
- Do you like art? Do you like to explore different galleries? If you said yes to one or both questions, then you definitely want to attend Castleberry Hill Second Friday Art Stroll. From 7 – 10 p.m., you can leisurely take in over 10 galleries, while enjoying the neighborhood as well. May 14
- Listen to the tunes at the 33rd annual Atlanta Jazz Festival. Promoting 31 days of Jazz, you can listen to artists in different venues. This weekend’s line-up includes bakery and cafe in College Park, Gordon White Park (map), Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum (map), and a tea house in Atlanta. May 14-16
- Go fly a kite at the Georgia Kite Festival at Centennial Olympic Park (map). Fun for the whole family, this inaugural event is free and includes live entertainment, vendors and an opportunity to make your own kite. May 15
- What is there not to do is perhaps the better question to ask when it comes to the 8th annual Kirkwood Spring Fling. Not only is there a festival, but also a tour of homes, an artists market and more. May 15; Tour of Homes, May 15-16
- I have one world for you: baklava. Now, if that isn’t enough to get you over to the 20th annual Marietta Greek Festival at the Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church (map), then maybe the entertainment, exhibits and the overall festive atmosphere will. May 14-16.
- Sip and see (and possibly buy) during the Stone Mountain Village Walk & Wine . Stay for dinner and enjoy the area. May 15.
