Day Trips from Niagara: Taking in a Ball Game
The season of baseball is upon us again, and one of the best side trips from Niagara is to Toron
to where you can grab a cheap seat and check out a Blue Jays game at the Rogers Centre (map).
Toronto is about a hours drive away from Niagara, or a hour and half long train ride. During the summer weekends, trains to Toronto leave from convenient locations in Niagara Falls (map) and St. Catharines (map), making it a worry free way to get to the city.
Tickets for the Jays games start at $14 and go up to $210. No matter where you watch the game from though, it’s always a great time. You can join the legions of fans who make it a goal to get on the jumbo screen with their home made signs and costumes.
Check online beforehand and see if your visit coincides with any home games. If you would rather wait and just buy tickets when you get there, there are always tons of scalpers selling tickets out front and if you wait until after the game has already started, you might just be able to score a great deal!
The train station is a short walk from the Rogers Centre, and if you are there earlier, you could spend part of the day taking a trip up the CN Tower (map), which is literally right next to the Rogers Centre. You won’t find a better view of Toronto!
