Sing Around Sydney on Karaoke Bus

I admit it, I’m a terrible singer but I love to do it. Sadly for my poor husband, my favourite songs to belt out are also the most difficult: Think anything by Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey. I tend to save my crooning for the privacy of my lounge room, but I’ve found something that’s convinced me to ditch my SingStar games. It’s the Sydney Karaoke Bus, an all-singing tour of the city.

The bus seats 44 people and is fitted with two microphones and three TVs displaying song lyrics so everyone can sing along. Groups can choose from 20 playlists, including the 80s (where I’d find my Whitney songs!), old time rock and roll, and kids’ songs.

Alcohol is not provided on board, but you’re welcome to bring your own. It will certainly help any introverts find their voices! The bus will also pick your party up and drop them home, so there’s no need to worry about a little overindulgence.

The cost of tours will vary depending on how many people are in your group, how long you want to book the bus for, and whether you’d like extras such as catering and adult entertainment (male strippers anyone?). However your average group of 30 people will pay around $40 per person, which doesn’t sound too bad for a good night out!

Tours are available on demand, although bookings are required. Four week’s notice is usually adequate, although the popular Friday and Saturday nights may be booked out six months in advance.
