Marin Open Studios

Coming up this May, the Marin Arts Council is sponsoring the Artists Spring Open Studios. The annual gathering celebrates the Arts at its source — with the Art Makers. Held the first two weekends each May, over 250 Participating artists open their studios and showcase their work.

Artists such as Antonia Tuppy Lawson, a whimsical ceramist who has won awards for her work. “My ceramic art and ceramic sculpture is bold, colorful, thought provoking and humorous; a way of expressing my views both politically and aesthetically,” says Lawson.

The Open Studios give visitors the chance to see her work, which is composed of large figurative works of art, landscape ceramic sculptures, bikini ceramics and heart-shaped sculptures, in the studio environment.

One of the biggest gatherings of artists will be at the ICB building in Sausalito where over 80 artists, including painters, sculptors, potters, and printmakers, will be participating.

To assist you in your travels to the various art studios throughout Marin, get a copy of The Arts of Marin TourGuide from the Marin Arts Council.
