Grand Opening: Canopy Tours in Urban Atlanta
Explore the Atlanta Botanical Garden to experience the best urban forest and garden the city has to offer. The garden has over 30 acres of gardens and woodlands, including one of the world’s largest permanent orchid displays.
Coming May 1st is the long anticipated Canopy Walk that allows you to walk 40 feet up in the air getting an incredible bird’s eye view of the forest below. A unique reverse suspension bridge extending 600 feet from the gardens up to the branches of the trees allows you to walk just under the canopy; one of the only of its kind in the United States. This one-of-a-kind canopy tour allows a bird’s eye view of the whole 30 acres of the forest.
Oaks, hickories and poplars make up most of the trees in the forest, and in the gardens; understory trees, native azaleas, camellias, hydrangeas, perennials and seasonal bulbs will be on display.
Bring the kids along with you too, so they can explore the Children’s Gardens where plant education, interactive entertainment and activities will keep them busy. The garden is two acres of fun, including a laugh garden, a treehouse, a soggy bog, a sunflower fountain, and more.
