Hot Happenings – April 14-19

Wednesday, April 14 — Taste of Cafe Martorano. Enjoy an appetizer in the bar area paired with either Italian and American wines. Each week they will pair a different variety of wine with a scrumptious appetizer. This happens every Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and costs $20/person. John Bull English Pub is hosting a Dogfish Head Beer Dinner on Wednesday, April 14 starting at 7:00 p.m., and Chef Paul will wow your taste buds. Enjoy gourmet dishes like Herb Encrusted Lamb Chops with a fig and port wine reduction, Grilled Salmon Salad with House Pesto and Grilled Veal T-Bone Steak with a Red Onion Risotto. Saturday, April 17 – Taste culinary delights from your favorite Delray Beach restaurants this weekend, as you sip on excellent wine and sprits at this year’s Circle on the Square. 32 East, Dada, Sundy House and more will by participating, and this year Chef Irie Spice will be doing cooking demonstrations and MThree Productions will be turning on the heat with a dance extravaganza. Come with high energy, and get ready to have a good time at this year’s Circle on the Square. Advance tickets are $90 and $120 VIP. Advance tickets must be purchased by Friday, April 16th. Saturday, April 17 — The New Times presents the original Beerfest on Saturday from 7-11 p.m. Enjoy unlimited craft beer, wine and liquor samplings; savor the tastes from the area’s great restaurants; enjoy live entertainment — all at Esplanade Park in Himmarshee Village. Saturday and Sunday, April 17 & 18 — Do you know where your food comes from? Here’s your chance to take an inside look on the process that puts your food on the plate. Whole Foods will be sponsoring a film series at Cinama Paradiso this weekend called Let’s Retake Our Plates. Four films will be shown over the weekend focuses on our food and how it effects our lives and the environment. On Saturday, King Corn/Big River will be shown at 2:30 p.m., and Fast Food Nation will be shown at 4:30 p.m. On Sunday, The Garden will be shown at noon, followed by Food, Inc. at 2:00 p.m. Cost to attend is $7/film and the net proceeds will be donated to Slow Food Glades to Coast.
