Badminton Asia Championship 2010 in New Delhi
Last month, New Delhi hosted the field hockey world cup. This month it
plays host to some of the finest badminton players in Asia, including Saina Nehwal. The Yonex-Sunrise Badminton Asia Championship 2010 will be held at the Siri Fort Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. The event is organized by the Commonwealth Games 2010 Organising Committee.
Asia’s best badminton players will be participating. The top seed is the Indonesian badminton sensation, Taufik Hidayat, who also won gold at the Athens Olympics. This is what the top seed had to say about the Delhi crowds:

The other contender for the title is China’s Lind Dan – three time world champion. India’s very own Saina Nehwal, who is the top women seed, and Chetan Anand (seeded 9th) will also participate. Saina Nehwal is a hot favorite as this is her home ground. Let’s see if Saina Nehwal lives up to her reputation.

Saina Nehwal is the only seeded Indian player in the women’s section. The top eight seeds for the Women’s section the Badminton Asia Championship 2010 are:

- MS/ WS/ XD First Round: 14th Apr, Wed 01:30PM to 07:30PM
- MD/ WD First Round: 15th Apr, Thu 09:00AM to 12:30PM
- Pre Quarter Finals – All Events: 15th Apr, Thu 01:30PM to 07:30PM
- Quarter Finals – All Events: 16th Apr, Fri 01:30PM to 05:00PM
- Semi Finals – All Events: 17th Apr, Sat 11:00AM to 03:30PM
- Finals – All Events: 18th Apr, Sun 11:00AM to 04:30PM
