Australia’s Newest Opera Stars Perform at Fagan Park

The next generation of Australian opera singers will come together for a very special performance in Galston next month. Pacific Opera’s Opera by the Lake will take over Fagan Park on May 2.

Pacific Opera looks to nurture Australia’s up-and-coming opera talent by providing comprehensive training, mentoring, and performance opportunities for its young protégées.

The Opera by the Lake show will incorporate classic opera tunes such as “The Toreador Song” from Carmen, “The Flower Duet” from Lakme, and songs from Hansel & Gretel and The Sound of Music.

This is the first time an event of this kind has been staged at Fagan Park. It’s set to be a great day out for all the family, with members of Pacific Opera joining 150 students from local schools on stage.

“Opera by the Lake is special concert for Pacific Opera, offering our young singers the invaluable experience of performing live for a large audience and Fagan Park is a glorious setting for this premier opera event,” said Christine Douglas, Artistic Director for Pacific Opera.
