Ballet in 3D. Live. Really, No Joke
For the first time in history, those who have equipment for receiving a 3D signal and watching programs will be able to ejoy themselves with ballet. This milestone event takes place on April 15.
The Mariinsky theater will be broadcasting a short, 50-minute, hala-concert, consisting of a few of best numbers ever performed at the theater.
An open signal can be received by viewers in Russia and other European countries. The concert starts at 18.00 Moscow, 15.00 UTCGMT.
Unfortunately, despite the fact that the concert will be broadcasted live, you cannot buy tickets to watch the show, only invited people will attend at a concert hall. But they will not see it in 3D
To receive the signal, you must have spectacles and a TV-set which is able to work in 3D . The signal will be broadcasted through the satellite Eurobird.
A concert will be opened by famous people in the world of ballet: Valery Gergiev, a chief conductor of the Mariinsky theater, and Maya Plisetskaya, who usully doesn’t need to be specially introduced.
Mariinsky promises to continue its experiments and soon make a 3D copy of another ballet to be shown in cinema.
