What’s All the Noise? Country Thunder Rolls into Arizona
Country Thunder, the largest country music festival in the southwest rolls into Florence, Arizona (map) for four days, April 14-17.
George Strait, the world record holder for the most #1 hit singles on any music chart in any genre, once announced, “ I need a little twang.” And that’s what you’re gonna get when you attend this mega music event in this small, out-of-the-way town midway between Phoenix and Tucson.
Dubbed Woodstock for Rednecks, Country Thunder draws an interesting group of music lovers. Although, I haven’t personally attended I have heard great things. It is considered one of the largest live musical events of the year with a line-up of Country music stars includes Keith Urban, Kid Rock (yes, he’s country now, too!), Miranda Lambert, Willie Nelson, Gary Allan and Neal McCoy. Here’s a complete lineup of all the acts appearing on stage.
Harley fans may also enter to win a Harley Davidson® Softail Night Train, part of a charity fundraiser to raise funds for The 100 Club of Arizona. A local nonprofit, The 100 Club provides financial assistance to public safety officers and firefighters when they are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty. Tickets can be purchased by calling the 100 Club of Arizona at 602-485-0100 and are also available at Country Thunder in the 100 Club tent.
Rain or shine a 4-day ticket is $119. You can also purchase single day tickets online. Camping sites and local hotels are within 5-40 miles of the arena.
So, look for the caravans of cars and RVs that roll into town. No, they’re not your relatives, but fans excited to see the up and coming acts of Country music.
