Salsa Away at Madrid’s Biggest Salsa Symposium
The 8th International Symposium of Salsa will be held in Madrid this Easter weekend – from today, 1st April, to 4th April. Besides the looks like there’s more to keep us up all night long this weekend!
Dancing shows, workshops and performances by famous salsa artistes are just some of the few attractive activities on the symposium schedule. Aficionados of all levels can sign up for workshops specially catered to dancers of different background. There are over 26 workshops – 6 for intermediate learners and 20 for the advanced dancers.
There is an impressive line-up of guests invited to perform in the event, including Jose Antonio and Vanesa, Swing Latino, Fusión Salsera and Imagen Latina. Professional dancers from all over the world will be gathered at this event.
The schedule for each day of the symposium starts with workshops in the morning and afternoon, before the performers strut their stuff from 11pm to 1am. After that, the dance floor is opened the public, where you are welcomed to dance all night long till 6am.
The famed Abakuá Afro Latin Dance Company will be introducing their new show for the first time on Sunday, 4th April. The hour of impressive dance performance will be enhanced by a light snow, professional scenography and a brand new look. Like always, the best is saved for the last: the symposium will come to a close with live music from the prestigious Orchestra del Solar.
The symposium will be held in the largest nightclub in Madrid, . For salsa enthusiasts, this is an event not to be missed. Even if this is your first experience on the dancefloor, it will definitely be a great introduction to salsa.

Ticket Prices:
Full passes for intermediate dancers cost 125 € and advanced dancers 160 €. The pass will entitle you to:
- 26 workshops (6 intermediate and 20 advanced),
- 4 show and dancing nights,
- Long time premiere by Abakua
- Live music by Orquesta del Solar
Night passes only cost 80 €, allowing access to the same shows and dancing nights, minus the workshops.
Workshop day passes can be purchased at 45€, giving you access to a one-day course.
You can also pay for entry into shows and social dancing at 26€, depending on which night you’d like to attend. The pass includes one drink.
