Last-Minute Easter Brunch Ideas in the Windy City

Have you made your Easter brunch plans yet? With Easter only a couple days away, time is ticking, but thankfully, plenty of restaurants still have spots open.

If you are still looking for a last-minute brunch idea for Easter, consider these tasty finds.

Lockwood Restaurant (312-917-3404) in the historic Palmer House Hilton will be serving gourmet-inspired fare such as rack of lamb and with white asparagus soup. Save room for Lockwood’s artisanal breads and imported cheeses, which can be a nice complement to the restaurant’s extensive wine selection. $55 (alcoholic beverages are extra); 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Café Marbella (773-588-9922) – If tapas are your thing for Easter brunch, this Spanish BYOB hotspot will be serving plenty of them this Sunday, including marinated Spanish olives, mussels in green sauce and pork loin skewers $24.95 (includes orange juice for make-your-own mimosas); 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

42 Degrees N. Latitude (773-907-2226) is a fun neighborhood restaurant with a large buffet (and egg decorating for kids) that’s perfect for families. On the menu you will find fried chicken, egg stratas, ham, mac and cheese and pancakes. $19.95 (includes coffee) and $6.95 for kids 10 and under; 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

If you are looking for a hotel brunch, check out NoMi (312-239-4030) on Michigan Avenue inside the Park Hyatt, which will serve sushi, omelets and leg of lamb. $105 ($30 for kids under 12); 11:15 a.m.-3 p.m.

Nellie’s (no Web site available; 773-252-552) – If you like Puerto Rican food, then Nellie’s is your spot this Easter serving Puerto Rican-style lasagna, roasted pork and coconut oatmeal. $17.99 ($6.99 for kids under 12); 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
