Spend The Fool’s Day With Clowns in Theatre

One of the most famous theatres in Russia and one of the most famous Russian theatres abroad, the Licedei (histrionics), the clowns that have been working since 1968, performs on April 1 with a show called, as you may guess, “The foolish day”. Indeed, what could they do on that day else? What can you?

You can not only sit and watch and enjoy yourself with a superb pantomime playing interrupted by bursts of laugh. The Licedei are creating a show coupled with hearty meal and drinks just like at a cabaret. I do know if there will be jokes with meal and drinks, and if I had asked I would have not been answered,  I think. But as I can guess they are planned, since it’s a tradition in Russia to put into your friend’s dish some more (or much more!) pepper than really needed :) Fool’s day, day of laugh and jokes.

The site of the theatre contains information about a few shows that the trop regularly performs. This evening it will not be a spectacle, it’s planned to be a show programm with a common gist and many funny cofeatures.

Also the program features contests, suprises and prizes. Maybe it may occur a bit confusing for a person not speaking Russian, but the main show is pantomimic, so I think you will feel comfortably. And the language of laugh is inderstood by everybody from any part of the world.

The show starts at 19.00 on the Fool’s day at the Leo Tolstoy-street, 9. It’s a picturesque site though not heavily visited by tourists. So if you go to see the show, arrive at 18.00 to hang around the nearest streets and the square of Leo Tolstoy.

Ticket price is 2,000 roubles.
