Mexican Ecotourism at Palace Resorts

Mexico takes environmental matters very seriously and maintains that most of the country’s protected areas and biosphere reserves remain off-limit to tourists.  As ecotourism grows more popular, there is an increasing number of properties that are committing to protecting the natural state of our planet while providing an enjoyable experience for travelers.

Palace Resorts is a prime example of this and, now that they have signed up to EarthCheck, (an environmental sustainability program) they will help monitor, measure and manage efficiency.

Operating five-star, all-inclusive properties in Cancun, Riviera Maya, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, and Riviera Nayarit, the Palace Resorts take an active interest in preserving the environmentally protected areas (which account for 20% of the region!).  That means that eco-conscious guests can rest knowing that they have chosen to stay at a hotel that has the same values as they do.

“Since starting the Palace Resorts brand 25 years ago, we have been keenly aware of the need to preserve the beauty of the destinations where our resorts are located,” said Roberto Chapur, President of Palace Resorts. “Caring for the environment also means caring for the people, so the establishment of The Palace Resorts Foundation was a natural place for us to start.”

Palace Resorts, which is celebrating 25 years of setting the highest standards, offers 12 oceanfront resorts providing luxurious and spacious accommodations (including their signature in-room double Jacuzzi!).
