All Out at Sam Houston Race Park

Crowds gather almost year-round at Sam Houston Race Park for Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing.  In addition to on-site races, the park offers “Simulcast” races from around the country and the world.

The park has not one but two restaurants to choose from featuring menus from Executive Chef Hugo Gomez: The Winner’s Circle Restaurant and the members-only Jockey Club.  Sam Houston also gives groups up to 100 the opportunity to enjoy the race in a Luxury Suite that includes valet parking, a themed buffet, a private bar and butler, and your group’s name listed in the live racing program.

The Showgrounds concert venue at Sam Houston is only in its second year but it has already housed some big-time names in music: Randy Travis, Pat Benetar (with Fabulous Thunderbirds), and Widespread Panic to name a few. In coming months the venue will host Marshall Tucker Band, Kevin Fowler, and Roger Creager.
