Spring is in the Air with These Deals and Packages for Travel in the Southeast

Spring has officially arrived, and that means it is time to get back into the swing of road trips.

Have some extra money and a free weekend coming up, but don’t know exactly where to go? Well, you can stretch your travel budget even further with these deals and packages available throughout the Southeast.

Until May 27, you can choose between a 4-night or 7-night stay at Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa (map). Located at the end of the Beaches of South Walton in the northwest Florida panhandle, the property’s Spring Savings Package features different amenities and a special per night rate. Some restriction apply and reservation must be paid in full at the time of booking.
Thinking about cruising out of Charleston, S.C., soon? Be sure to take a look at the packages offered by various properties. For example, the Embassy Suites Historic Charleston (map) has a Dine’ ‘N Cruise package that includes a $50 gift certificate at one of three restaurants. Marriott’s Courtyard at Mt. Pleasant (map) has a Stay Here, Cruise There! package which features complimentary parking and complimentary breakfast for two. All stay and cruise packages are available through December 31.
And while speaking about Charleston, Planters Inn (map) is offering a Play and Stay golf package. This includes two passes to Rivertowne Country Club (map), a gift certificate for dinner at Peninsula Grill (map) and more.
The Renaissance Vinoy (map) in St. Petersburg, Fla., is celebrating its 85th birthday. To commemorate this occasion, they have a package that features a number of amenities including a history tour, and tickets to either St. Petersburg Museum (map) or Salvador Dali Museum (map).
At Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa (map) in Ft. Myers, Fla., buy three nights and receive the fourth free. The property also offers other packages worth checking out as well.
The Millennium Hotel Durham (N.C., map) is offering a “Devil of a Deal” package during March madness. Guests checking in one the night of the Duke NCAA Tournament games receive a special rate and the second night rate matching Duke’s final score from the night before (rate won’t exceed $89). Two-night stay is required and when booking, use code DEVIL.
And while this isn’t a package, it’s definitely worth a mention. On March 26, at all of the Great Wolf Lodges (in the region: Grapevine, Texas, Charlotte, N.C., and Williamsburg, Va.), they will be trying for a spot in the Guinness World Book of Records for the “Longest Distance Water Sliding in 24 Hours.” This is also a fundraiser, with the funds going to Big Brother/Big Sister, so a minimum $1 is requested.
