For an Apres Game Meal: Zachary’s on Robson Street

With it’s convenient location at the south east end of Robson Street, near the BC Place Stadium, and the LiveCity Downtown Site at Georgia and Beatty,  Zachary’s on Robson makes an excellent place to stop for a pre-game or apres game meal or snack.   On the ground floor of the Hampton Inn Downtown, this is a cozy little restaurant where you can sit and relax by a fireplace, at the bar or in a quiet booth.

My friend and I dropped in for something to eat last weekend after the opening of the 2010 Paralympic Games.  Even with the crowds downtown coming from the stadium there was plenty of room in Zachary’s and the service was prompt.

We started with the house wine ($6.25) and decided to have a full meal, ordering the Prime Rib special ($12.95) that came with roasted veggies and yorkshire pudding smothered with dark, rich gravy.  Our pleasant server suggested the chocolate cake for dessert, which we shared.  She was right. It was definitely a decadent, delicious way to end the meal!  For approximately $20 each for a full and satisfying meal, we considered Zachary’s a good choice.  So if you want a full course meal or a late snack after the Game, I recommend it.  It’s true West Coast dining with a varied menu including seafood, pizza, light snacks and appetizers.
