Now Even More Chances to Dine with Cinderella
The alarm clock began buzzing and I fumbled in the dark for my glasses with one hand and the telephone with the other. I had this date circled on the calendar for months — 180 days exactly and it would be our last day at Walt Disney World Resort, and hopefully we would be dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table.
I knew from past attempts, reservations for this dining experience with the princesses fills up very quickly. I needed to make the call as soon as the phone lines opened. I had the telephone number memorized – 407-WDW-DINE. I dialed and held my breath.
As I sat on hold, I was sure, this time I would get through and this time I would get the reservations, after all I had tried each day for four days. Sadly, when the reservation clerk came on the line she delivered the news, all reservations were full.
It would be another trip to Disney without dining at Cinderella’s Castle in Magic Kingdom (map), something we had heard so much about and something we wanted to experience for ourselves.
We would later discover that additional princess appearances took place during the lunch seating, and recently, Fairytale Dining has been added for evening meals. In the past, only members of Cinderella’s royal family, Fairy Godmother and the Mice greeted guests at this evening meal.
Now, during all three meals served at Cinderella’s Royal Table, guests are greeted by Cinderella in the castle lobby. A PhotoPass photographer captures the magical moment as a photo package, included in the price of the meal, will be given to each family.
During the meal guests can expect to see several other royal friends as Snow White, Jasmine, Belle and Aurora, often stop by each table to sign autographs and pose for photos and share a hug or two. Be sure to warn your own little princess, that other than Cinderella, there is no guarantee who will greet you.
While this is a special experience to dine with royalty, it is also thrilling to be inside the castle with its leaded-glass windows, high arches and medieval flags. Guests can enjoy the amazing view of Fantasyland as well.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner, remain an extra special treat for children and adults. As a romantic setting, several marriage proposals have taken place here. Remember, per Walt’s wishes, alcohol is not served in the Magic Kingdom.
In an attempt to decrease the volume of phone calls, guests can also make reservations on-line. With these additional seating options, perhaps reservations will not be as difficult to come by. Just like Snow White and her prince, someday my reservation will come!
