Upcoming LA Fashion Events
If you’re all about fashion, you’re all about the upcoming weeks. Many in the fashion world have been waiting for these events all year long so they can see what designers have come up with and what are the newest trends. Here are three fashion events taking place in Los Angeles:
During this week, several showrooms, fashion shows, and other events are held throughout Los Angeles. Some noteworthy happenings are the Designers & Agents Trade Show and the “110 Years of Fashion at 110 E 9th St” exhibition and panel discussion to discuss the influence of vintage on current and future trends.

- Date: March 17-24, 2010
- Location: All over Downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, and Beverly Hills
It will include an apparel and accessory show called Focus, a shoe show called Transit, and also a LA Kids Market. The event will take place in the renowned California Market Center (The CMC) which is in the heart of the downtown Los Angeles Fashion district.

Sample Sale (open to public)
Sample Sales are open to anyone, whereas the first two fashion events are mainly open to qualified buyers and members of the press. You will be able to get the special deals of many showrooms so you can spread the word on what hot collections are in Los Angeles. Here are three quick tips when you attend sample sales:
1. Expect to pay in cash
Not all showrooms take card or checks. Also, if you’re competing with someone for an item, vendors prefer the customer who can pay in cash.
2. Bring a large bag
Shopping bags aren’t provided so you would want something to carry items that you buy.
3. Dress comfortably
You might be sprinting against another customer for a particular item. Also, keep in mind there are usually no dressing rooms so dress in layers so you won’t have to be naked in public.
Remember Sample Sales are not stores, they are self-service independent places of businesses and are not store clerks. Some showrooms do not have for-sale items so look for the “Samples for Sale” sign. Have fun and please no hair pulling or biting.
