Good Food and Live Entertainment at the Revel Room, Gastown

For a relaxing and romantic evening try the Revel Room in historic Gastown.  It’s a cozy little restaurant/bar with a menu that includes West coast cuisine served in a casual atmosphere.  There’s a brunch, lunch and dinner menu and light snacks for evening fare.  And the well stocked bar serves award-winning cocktails as well as offering local and international wines (by the glass and bottle) as well as local and imported beers.

I dropped in one Tuesday night when there was live music playing and enjoyed a time to unwind after a busy day to the Roots & Blues tunes of the Ronnie Hayward Trio with Ronnie on upright bass, Steve Kozak on guitar and Steve Taylor on drums.

There’s a late night menu until 1.30 am.  The marinated wings seasoned with cajun spices ($7) and a bowl of West Coast gumbo ($7) went down well with a sleeve of cold honeylager. ($6)

I enjoyed it so much, I went back this Tuesday.  This time I tried a Classic Revel Burger made with a thick juicy paddy of Pemberton Meadows beef, aged white cheddar, double smoked bacon and herb aeoli served with a side of thick  jojo fries ($13).  Perfect fare for a chilly damp evening.

You can dine from a good selection of everything from appetizers and salads to full meals from $15 – $30 while you enjoy live music in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. If you want to keep it intimate, there’s an upstairs loft room for private dining.
