Going, going, gone! Olympics Treasures up for Auction

Who wants to buy some Olympics gear?  Now that the 2010 Winter Olympics is over, hundreds of items have been listed on the Official 2010 Auction on Ebay. One of the hottest (and most expensive) items offered for sale is a jersey signed by Sidney Crosbie. So far bids have reached $5,000.  Bidding ends Thursday!

There are other less expensive goodies too, like sports cards and programs autographed by various notables.  Other memorabilia like game-used hockey pucks, ski gates, competition bibs are going like hot-cakes.  Some of the pucks have sold for $600.

The auction began Sunday March 7 and should continue for a few weeks.  the VANOC auction is being conducted in partnership with Game Day Auction and about 10,000 items are up for sale.  Jerseys from final goal medal games won’t e available as they are kept by the athletes.  Hockey nets will be cut and sold in pieces.  (For a new style of hair net?)

So get your bids in for a truly memorable souvenier of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Meanwhile, there’s a $10,000 reward offered for the return of Sidney Crosby’s missing hockey gear.  The gold medal hockey scorer tossed down his stick and gloves during the celebration of the Canada/US win and they mysteriously disappeared.
