A Mad Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

“Birthday? My dear child, this is NOT a birthday party. Of course not. This is an unbirthday party.” So says the Mad Hatter in Lewis Carol’s Alice in Wonderland. But no, this is not about the much-awaited 2010 film directed by Tim Burton, but a tea party to end all tea parties in Auckland.

On 6 and 7 March, 11am to 4:00pm, at the Botany Town Centre, the Mad Hatter and Alice will be holding a tea party with a difference.

At the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, Children can enter the “Mad Hatter’s” kids dress up competition, wacky tea pot competition, and the “Taste Test” competition with Prenzel & T2 each day. Plus, heaps of prizes to be won.

In addition, every $40 or more spent in a single transaction on Saturday or Sunday at Prenzel and T2 would entitle the buyer a raffle entry the draw a hamper of T2 and Prenzel products valued at $270.

The Taste Test will be be held all throughout the day, wherein contestants will be asked to pick the right flavour and enter the draw to WIN the daily prize.

Kids are encouraged to go to the Botany Town Centre dressed up as their avourite character from Alice in Wonderland for the Mad Hatter Dress Up competition and vie for a double a movie pass and spot prizes.

For those with a more creative flair, the Wacky Tea Pot competition will be up their alley. Contestants just have to bring their oldĀ  tea pots or one they’ve designed to be in to be able to join.

Certainly a fun afternoon children of all ages shouldn’t miss. Plus, admission is merely a gold coin donation to enter and all proceeds go to Life Kidz. Truly a wonderful way to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Children’s Day.
