Get Cheesy

Ever noticed how mysteriously silent poets have been about cheese? They were probably too busy nibbling them.

For Auckland, cheese-lovers will get a treat with the ultimate cheese event, the CheeseFest on 30 March, 5:00-8:00pm, at The Great Room at the The Langham Hotel, 83 Symonds St, Auckland Central Business District.

CheeseFest 2010, predicted to attract the largest attendance yet, will offer a unique opportunity for everyone taste all the cheese entered in the 2010 Cuisine NZ Champions of Cheese Awards.

For an entrance fee of only $30, guests can sample and relish the best cheese products made in New Zealand, and served with a complimentary glass of Yealands Estate wine at that.

Cheesemakers and cheese companies from around New Zealand will be  showcasing their products, as well as captivating everyone with their expertise. CheeseFest 2010 will certainly be an opportunity for anyone and everyone to purchase some of the best cheeses in Aotearoa at very awesome prices.

A “foodie haven”, more than 400 of the country’s finest speciality cheeses, including the country’s top cheddars, best blues, creamiest bries and  fetas, and some exciting new additions will be showcased at the CheeseFest.

A cash bar will be available to purchase wines to match with cheeses. Non-alcoholic beverages are also available. Guests will also be able to meet the winning artisan food producers from the 2010 Cuisine Artisan Awards; while the winning companies will be present with a selection of artisan-produced food products for tasting and purchase.

Tickets to the “tastiest event in town” can be purchased online at Eventfinder.co.nz.
