Hot Happenings – February 24 to March 2

Thursday, February 25: Jonathon Eismann’s new barbecue restaurant, Q, will celebrate it’s grand opening on Thursday evening with free food, free shots and free beer. The Cat Daddies will be playing the blues and have you “shaking your ass” all night long. Get ready for a wild night out. Thursday, Feb. 25 from 8pm – 2am. February 24-28: The food and wine event that you’ve all been waiting for – The South Beach Wine & Food Festival, and this year there are actually tickets still left. Visit their site online, and you will soon be on your way to Fun & Fit as a Family, the Grand Tasting Village, an Interactive Luncheon with Scott Conant or Joe’s Big Chill.

February 26-28: While food and wine lovers will be swarming South Beach, car enthusiasts will gather in Palm Beach for Supercar Weekend. Spend time at the Palm Beach International Raceway on Friday or at the Flagler Drive Waterfront on Sunday and admire some of the best supercars around. General Admission is $24 in advance.

February 28: Explore the Pacific Northwest with Chef Michael Wagner from Lola’s on Harrison. Enjoy live demonstrations, go home with the recipes and enjoy a fantastic 3-course dinner paired with either beer or wine. Cost is $50/person. Visit Lola’s on Harrison to sign up. Lola’s on Harrison is located at 2032 Harrison St in Hollywood.

March 1-5: It’s time for the famous wine week at Smith & Wollensky. Stop in for lunch and tell your server you are participating, and enjoy 10 wines for just $10. Each day is different and you can view the complete schedule for Miami before you go.  Smith & Wollensky is located at 1 Washington Ave, Miami Beach.

March 2: Because helping the environment always feels good, it’s time to make plans to go to Level 25 at Conrad Miami. This, and every Tuesday, from 5-8pm, Level 25 will offer a Go Green menu – good for both your body and the Earth. Enjoy superb dishes that are either slow-cooked or non-cooked or enjoy their $1 menu options. Conrad Miami is located at 1395 Brickell Ave, 25th Fl, Miami 305.503.6529

March 2: Get ready to party – as it’s Dr. Seuss’ 106th Birthday. The Miami Children’s Museum is hosting a special afternoon (3:00pm – 7:00pm) in honor of Dr. Seuss. Enjoy games, art projects, giveaways and contest and of course, story time. This event is free and open to everyone.
