Hurry Spring! The Boston Flower and Garden Show

For winter-weary New Englanders, an annual flower show event in Boston has always been one of the true harbingers of spring. This year, the Boston Flower and Garden Show will be produced  by the Paragon Group. The event will be held Wednesday, March 24-Sunday, March 28 at the Seaport World Trade Center ( 1 Seaport Lane, Boston) (Map).

The  theme for this year’s show is a “Feast for the Senses” . Visitors will enjoy  30 stunning displays that include imaginative floral gardens, organic vegetable plots and landscapes with water features- that together highlight  the colors, scents, textures, taste and even the sounds of spring.

Both novice and green-thumb gardeners will enjoy the wide variety of lectures and demonstrations by national and local experts. Topics include organic gardening methods, landscaping for curb appeal, container gardening ideas, and more. And of course, there will be a marketplace to buy every gardening gadget you never knew you needed!

New England gardeners will be glad to know that the Massachusetts Horticultural Society, America’s oldest horticultural society and a beloved local institution, will be a partner in this year’s show, presenting Blooms! 2010, the garden club floral design and amateur competitions.

Admission: $20 adults, $17 seniors, $10 children ages 6-17, free for kids under age 6.
