Artsy Drinks at Darlinghurst’s Pocket Bar

From the antique Paris metro tickets and old tobacco boxes displayed under the bar’s glass top to the edgy indoor graffiti, Pocket is a bar that offers something different to its clientele.

Once a narrow garage with a roller door, Pocket has now been rebirthed as part watering hole, part art installation. Sipping on tequilas and vodka is made infinitely more satisfying when you’re lounging on the wing-back armchairs and opulent sofas.

The hard stuff is in abundance, but there is a small selection of wines and an exciting cocktail list with an old school flavour. When it comes to eats, crepes are Pocket’s specialty. They serve up both the sweet and savoury variety, and I hear the banana and chocolate one is to die for.

Trading hours: Open 5 pm til midnight on Mondays, 10 am til midnight other weekdays, and 9 am til midnight on weekends
Location: Pocket
Address: 13 Burton Street, Darlinghurst
Public transport: Catch a train to Kings Cross station. The bar is a short walk away
