Move to the Groove of the Mission Bay Jazz & Blues
Celebrating its 10th anniversary on Saturday, 27 February, is the Mission Bay Jazz and Blues Streetfest, at the Selwyn Reserve, Tamaki Drive in Mission Bay.
The event is an outdoor jazz and blues street music festival that will be held in one of Auckland City’s most popular and iconic waterfront sites, with more than 20 bands expected to entertain over 30,000 fans.
Tamaki Drive will actualy be enclosed to allow bands to play on the street itself and for everyone to have fun in a friendly atmosphere, — dining, dancing, and listening to good music.
The New Zealand bands and international acts that will perform are made up of more than 170 musicians who will play their repertoire from 6.00pm – 11.00pm. There will be simultaneous concerts on different stages within the venue, including two beach front stages.
At only $10 as admission fee (children five years and under enter for free), the Mission Bay Jazz & Blues Streetfest would certainly be great value for five hours of live music and entertainment. Although alcoholic refreshments will be available in designated hospitality areas and two licensed areas, the general area of the festivity will be considered liquor free zones. There will, nonetheless, a wide selection of food and beverage inside the venue.
With Auckland weather transitioning from summer to autumn, the streetfest can be struck with heavy rain, thus, the rain date has been set for the folllowing Saturday, 6 March.
