The DC Heart Ball Helps Find a Cure for Heart Disease

The annual DC Heart Ball is one of Washington, DC’s premier black-tie social events.  The 2009 Heart Ball national campaign raised over $51 million to support the American Heart Association (AHA) and this year’s event in the District is expected to raise over $2 million.

Heart The money raised will support the AHA in life-saving medical research and community education.

Heart diseases and strokes are America’s number 1 and 3 top causes of death, directly related to 870,000 deaths each year. In the DC area, one in three deaths are attributable to some form of heart disease.

Over 500 guests attending this 12th annual gala will enjoy an evening of live music and dancing, auctions, and a lavish cocktail reception followed by a gourmet dinner.

Members of the military will also be in attendance as special guests as well as survivors that will relate their  inspirational stories of survival.

The top auction items are two fabulous trip packages, including:

  • Six nights at two Marriott Resort & Spas in Hawaii.
  • Dinner for ten with the French Ambassador at his residence in Washington, DC residence, followed by a 6-night trip to France.

So help the AMA conduct life-saving medical research with your attendance at this worthy event.
