Mardi Gras Celebrations Kick Off with Gay and Lesbian Film Festival

The Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras kicks off early this year, with Queer Screen’s Mardi Gras Film Festival beginning a week ahead of the main festivities.

Starting on Friday night, six venues across Sydney will screen the best gay and lesbian cinema from around the world for three weeks.
This year’s event promises more local content than ever before, including the opener My Queer Career 2010, the family drama Older ‘n’ Last Time, and a collection of short film programs. Other even highlights include the critically acclaimed Tom Ford film A Single Man, Robert Pattinson’s turn as Salvador Dali in Little Ashes, and the long awaited Quentin Crisp biopic An Englishman in New York which closes the festival.

You can browse the program and purchase single or multi-film passes at the Mardi Gras Film Festival website.
