Shutterbug Saturday: Weir Canyon Trail
Trail running is one of my favorite activities, and Orange County has several great trails to choose from. I’ve already told you where to , but most of those trails are down in South County, leaving those in North County with a 20 minute+ drive to run in the great outdoors.
I had accepted that I would have to drive the distance to hit the trails until recently when I discovered the Weir Canyon Trail. Turns out, there’s a great trail system near the Weir Canyon/Savi Ranch shopping centers in Yorba Linda ().
The trails are technically in Anaheim and give you great views with the city of Anaheim on one side and rolling hills on the other. Starting at Hidden Canyon Road trailhead, follow the trail to a 4-5 mile hilly workout!
Driving Directions:
From the Riverside Freeway (91), exit at Weir Canyon Road. Head south 0.7 mile to Serrano Avenue. Turn right (west) and proceed 2 miles to Hidden Canyon Road. Turn left (south) and follow it .5 miles until it dead-ends at Overlook Terrace where you will find the trail head sign. Park along Hidden Canyon Road.
