Five Crowns Restaurant Offers Demetria Estate Wine Dinner
On Tuesday, February 16 at 7 p.m., in Corona del Mar () is having a Demetria Estate Wine Dinner, featuring winemaker Mike Roth as a speaker. The event is $89 per person, including tax and gratuity. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (949) 760-0331.

The menu has been created by Executive Chef Dennis Brask, starting with hors d’oeuvres and 2008 Demetria Cuvée Papou, a white Rhone blend from Santa Ynez Valley,
The second course of Dry-Pack Scallop and Smoked-Salmon Napoleon will be served with Parsnip Mash with Basil Oil and 2006 Demetria Estate Chardonnay Santa Rita Hills.
Roasted Duck Breast with Blackberry and Sage with Mushroom Whole-Grain Bread Pudding will be served with 2007 Demetria Estate Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills.
Grilled Lamb Culotte with Chipotle Glaze and an Artisanal Cheddar and Yukon Gold Potato Pancake will be served with 2006 Demetria Estate “North Slope” Syrah Santa Ynez Valley.
For dessert, House-made Maple Dunkin’ Donuts will be served with Vanilla Bean Espresso Cream and Stella Noche Press Pot Coffee.
Background about the food and wine
Five Crowns was first opened in 1965 in Corona del Mar, and features gourmet meals created with U.S.D.A. Prime beef, poultry, fresh fish and seasonal selections, giving Five Crowns quite a reputation over the years for delicious food and an extensive fine wine list. The restaurant building itself has been listed as a landmark as “North America’s most authentic replica of an English country inn.”
Five Crowns has earned the Automobile Club of Southern California Four-Diamond Award, the Mobil Travel Guide Four-Star Award, and the DiRoNA Award, given to more distinguished restaurants in North America. It has also received the Wine Spectator Grand Award, the Southern California Restaurant Writers’ Gold Award, and the Golden Bacchus Award for its wine list.
Established in 2005, Demetria Estate is a family-owned winery, whose goal is to create wines of distinction and character rivaling the world’s greatest. Their wines are part of a sustainable farming operation in the Santa Rita Hills area of Santa Barbara County.
