Act Fast! 2010 Wine Classic!
Red Wine
Calling all wine aficionados! If you would like to taste over 150 types of wine from 46 “prestigious boutique[s]” then the is the event for you. You will also be supporting California because all of the wineries are from the Golden State. The sheer variety of wine present at the event would satisfy any wine connoisseur. Just to mention a few, there will be dry white wines, sweet wines, and white wines.
When you enter the boutique, first you will be able to meet the owner or vintner of the winery. The Wine Classic explains that, “The wineries will pour about an ounce of wine-enough to examine color, aroma and taste.” In addition, wine buckets will be provided-so as to not be influenced by alcohol or palate fatigue (professional tasters prefer not to actually consume the alcohol). No worries if you’re a beginning taster, Loyola Marymount offers a tasting guide and glossary of wine terms. Also, feel free to ask the owners/vintners of the wineries themselves any questions you may have.
Want to act more like a wine professional (even if you’re not)? The Wine Classic provides evaluations for attendees of the wine’s qualities such as astringency, acescence, and bouquet. Like what you taste? Silent auctions will be held so you can purchase wines from prestigious wineries. Another great feature of the event is that proceeds will benefit the Kilp and McKay Scholarship for LMU students.
This year’s Wine Classic will be held on the main campus of Loyola Marymount University in the Gersten Pavilion. The event will take place this Sunday, January 31, 2010 from 2-5pm. Registration for tickets ends tomorrow! So if you would like to attend act fast.
