Mamma Mia, ABBA’s musical blockbuster, is still as successful as when it was first performed in 1999 in London’s West End. The musical is based on the songs of ABBA, a popular Swedish pop group who were top of the charts most of the time during their active years from 1972–1982.
Mamma Mia is the story of 20-year-old Sophie, who wants her father to take her down the aisle on her wedding day, but she doesn’t not know him. When she finds the names of three possible fathers in her mother’s diary, she invites them all three to her wedding. Sophie does not find out who her father is, she loves all three men and it does not matter who is her biological father is. Sophie decides that she is not ready to get married. To prevent the wedding preparations from going to waste, one of the three possible father’s marries Sophie’s mother. Sophie and her fiancé leave on a round the world trip.
