Breathtaking Buskers to Behold

Featuring 14 performers from all over the world, Auckland is set to hold its 10th Annual Buskers Festival from 29 January to 1 February.

In celebration of Auckland’s Anniversary Weekend, acrobats, magicians, jugglers, mimes, comedians, pavement artists,  and more will come together and generate a vibrant atmosphere in the City Auckland.

Among the highlights of the Buskers Fest are the Liqueur Flambe, a cabaret duo who will present a blend of circus stunts, violin virtuoso, and fire; Ben Zuddhist, a classic interactive street comedy act about an ordinary man who becomes a super hero; Manx, a martial artist trained in Jiu-Jitsu since he was 4 years old and is also a maser sword swallower; Pat-Trick, whose escapes are awesome, while injecting Irish charm and wit, making his performance one of the most hilarious.

The street performances are from noon till 6:00 in the evening on 29 January to February 1 at Vulcan Lane, Downtown Auckland, the Princess Wharf, and the Viaduct Harbour. Night shows: on 29 January at 7:30-10:00pm; 30 January at 8:00-10:00pm; 31 January and 1 February at 6:00 to 8:00pm. As to who performs what, where, and when, check the programme at AucklandBuskersFestival.co.nz.

As all busking acts, entrance is free, but buskers do have to eat. So,  it is generally up to the audience how much they want to pay. Buskers actually earn their living by ‘passing the hat’ so people let them know they enjoyed the performance by how much they put inside the hat.
