Staying Hydrated While On The Road

Touring a city, hillside or market under the umbrella of a blazing hot sun can cause major harm to your body in no time at all. Buying pre-packaged filtered water is convinient but it is also damaging to the environment once the bottle is empty and no longer useful to the owner. Plastic bottle mountains have begun to surface throughout the world as a result of people keeping themselves hydrated; is there not an alternative solution to this matter?

The answer is yes, and the solutions are plentiful thanks to modern technology. Here are some examples which can be found at most local camping / outdoor adventure outfitters:

1. Iodine is a great way to sterilize clear water (must be translucent) and is available in both tablet and liquid form (adds slight taste)

2. Ceramic filter pumps easily attach to water bottles (tasteless)

3. SteriPens, compact light weight ultra-violet light sticks  inserted into the impure water (tasteless)

4. Brita filter water bottles (tasteless)
