Providence Valentine

Calamansi Gelee

As an “Insider’s View” subscriber, I had a brief glimpse of what the geniuses of Providence had in store for their customers on Valentine’s Day. Chef Michael Cimarusti will be featuring a special six course dinner menu (currently not in their web site) that will include:

amuse bouche

big eye tuna sashimi (blood orange, red shiso granita, mizuna)

nancy’s hand harvested diver scallops (mcgrath farms english peas, and baby vegetables, hinting at spring)

wild local swordfish (weiser farms pee-wee potatoes, pei mussels, extra virgin olive oil, lemon zest, italian parsley)

crispy-skinned, medium-rare arctic char (braised turnips, black truffles, frisee, bacon)

prime dry-aged strip loin beef (macaroni gratin, roasted asparagus, bone marrow)

litchi, rose, raspberry

chocolate (caramel, passion, red chile)

petits fours

150/210 with wine pairing exclusive of tax, gratuity and additional purchases

There will be two seatings offered: Early Seating at 5:30pm and 6:00pm; Late Seating at 8:30pm and 9:00pm. The special Valentine’s Day menu will be available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings of the Valentine’s Day weekend. You can choose to have handmade Providence chocolates waiting for your Valentine before they are seated. These chocolates are created by renowned pastry Chef Adrian Vasquez who uses premium Valrhona chocolate. His signature flavors include Banana-Ginger, Orange Caramel, Rosemary, and Coconut-Green Tea. They are sold $28 a dozen and can also be shipped to your Valentine.

This restaurant has been featured in many publications as one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles.  So Valentine’s reservations will book quickly. Be sure to have your Valentine’s Day planned early to make that special one remember how much you love them.
