FADA Los Angeles Art Show 2010

LA Art Show

LA Art Show

In tribute to January as Los Angeles’ Arts Month, I will be writing about the best spots to enjoy what artists have to offer. One great way to celebrate art is to attend the Los Angeles Art Show at the L.A. Convention Center from January 20-24, 2010. The show is held by FADA- the Fine Art Dealers Association and KR Martindale Show Management. The Los Angeles Art Show has become the biggest art fair occurring on the West Coast, so the tickets of $20 at the door are well worth it (discounts are available online).

You can also attend the Opening Night Gala which takes place on January 20, 2010 and tickets are $225 but $250 at the door.  This event benefits the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (aka LACMA), LACMA’s Art Museum Council and its Prints & Drawings Council, and Inner-City Arts. The Inner-City Arts teach Los Angeles’ most at-risk children free of charge! Test have proven that since the inception of this program, student’s standardized test scores have risen in math, reading, and English proficiency. Besides the benefits of higher test scores, children learn life skills that will help them in the future.  You can donate at five sponsorship levels: Platinum-$10,000, Gold-$5,000, Silver-$2,500, Bronze-$1,000, and Friend-$500.

You can buy available art pieces from the show and support artists from all over the world. Just take a look at the Information tab on the web site and see all of the participating galleries and exhibitors!
